We recognise that making a hotel booking over the internet involves you providing your personal information. Your right to privacy is very important to us as we always want you to feel confident about using our website. We believe your information should only be used to help us process any requests you have made and to provide you with a better service - and that's it. That's why we have a privacy policy in place to protect your personal information. That policy is set out below:

When do we collect information about you and how will we use it?

When you make a booking, either using the website or by phone or email, we need to collect personal information about you to enable us and your chosen hotel to process your reservation, including sending you notification of confirmation. This will include your credit or debit card details. Although Hotmouse does not take any payment from you, this information will be required by the hotel if there is any deposit required or in the case of cancellation or amendment charges. This financial information is held on our secure server and protected by our Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology until the time that it may be needed has passed, when it is then deleted.

We ask for your email address as that is how we will confirm your reservation to you. We also ask for your telephone number in case we need to contact you in this way regarding your reservation. We also make this information available to the hotel through our secure server, but we never pass it on to anyone else.

We will only email you in relation to your booking. We may send you details of our Hotmouse Reward Scheme following a booking, if you are not currently a member. If you do not sign up, we will not contact you again without your consent. If you do sign up, we promise to only send you a limited number of communications in any one year that are in relation to the Reward Scheme, apart from those directly relating to any bookings you may make.

All the information you send to us over the internet will be encrypted and protected by our Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, making it unreadable in transit, and safe in transmission.

Site Tracking / Cookies

We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. We do this because it helps us find ways to improve the way the website functions for the benefit of our customers. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening, if you so wish. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you change your browser settings.

We may also log each IP address that accesses the site, together with the referring destination URL, as this helps us analyse visitor behaviour which also helps make continual improvements to the site, including resolving technical issues.

Amending / Deleting your Personal Information

By making a booking on the Hotmouse website, or by any other method, you are consenting to the collection and use of your personal information by Hotmouse and by your chosen hotel.

We may provide links to external websites for your information and convenience. Hotmouse is not responsible for the content of such websites or for their privacy practices, should you decide to provide them with your personal information.

Legal

We may be required by law to disclose the information you have given us, either in relation to a government request for information, in which case we will seek your consent, or without consent in relation to lawsuits where such disclosures mitigate our liability or enforce our rights.
